VICE-President, Janet King welcomed members and nine visitors to our April meeting. Ladies enjoyed a very special evening as we were joined by six Clarins Cosmetic Consultants from The House of Fraser, Lakeside. Consultant Colleen gave a talk on the history of Clarins and their range of skincare products. This was followed by an opportunity for our ladies to enjoy a “Red Chair” shoulder and back massage, hand massages and makeovers. The competition to name the founder of Clarins Cosmetics, Jacques Courtin Clarins was won by May Burdett, who received a selection of skincare products.
Janet King reported that the outing to the Thriplow Daffodil Festival had been very enjoyable and advised details of a proposed Riverboat Trip from Wroxham, Norfolk on Tuesday, June 14th.
Fifteen of our members attended this year’s Thames Spring Group Meeting held on April 26th at Tilbury Community Centre. Our thanks go to the ladies of Linford & District WI who did an excellent job in organising and hosting the evening and to our speaker, Gary Edgington, who recounted many of his hilarious experiences whilst serving in various departments of the police force. The General Vote of Thanks was given by Patricia Henry of Chafford Hundred WI.
To round off the month, 24 of our ladies enjoyed an excellent evening at the Riverview Restaurant, Thurrock College on Thursday, April 28th.
