YOUR THURROCK doesn’t really do weddings but we make an exception for the marriage of Mark Allen and Katrina Einchcomb at Orsett Hall yesterday (Friday).
The beautiful setting was complimented by Katrina’s forensic organisational skills that have made her a rising star at Brit Insurance. Mark, a man so laid back, he is almost horizontal glided through the day with his usual aplomb.
The Gold Room was enhanced by the classical sounds of a string quartet and the decor and dress code was purple. Unfortunately the weather took a nod to Prince and there was a lot of Purple Rain however the assembled throng did not let it dampen their spirits.
The proceedings were conducted by chief registrar, Lynn Whipps who was able to take a civil ceremony and give it a real sense of occasion and meaning.
The reception was a lovely affair with the food once again illustrating how the new team at the 4-star hotel have really taken the place to a new level.
There were touching and heartfelt speeches by the groom (his mother, Mrs Sally Casey cried throughout), best man and father of the bride but the last word was left to, perhaps prophetically, the bride.
The team at YT would like to wish the happy couple a very happy future.
