  1. Many thanks to YT for covering the 50th anniversary of the doors opening on the existing Holy Cross Church, this Sunday 26th June 2011.
Bishop Thomas will be taking the mass, and 3 young people from the parish will be presented with their Jack Petchey Certificates. There will be pictures on display from the parish archives. If you are someone, who used to attend Holy Cross Church or social centre over the past 50 years. You would be most welcome.come along and help us identify some of the faces or functions depicted in photo’s shown. Share an anecdote or two, wax lyrical about the Ockendon of the 60’s ? was it very different then? with new development and new communities moving in ? If you can spare an hour (or longer) please join in and celebrate this special anniversary. Have you heard about the bells? Yes, 2011 will see the first set of bells ever to be installed in the bell tower. Now you’re interested! Why not come along and find out more.
