Lakeside Robbery Witnesses needed

Police are appealing for help to identify two men they wish to speak to in connection with a robbery on the Chafford Hundred railway footbridge, near Lakeside Shopping Centre.

Between 8pm and 9pm on Tuesday, March 8, two suspects approached the 14-year-old boy and demanded his mobile. The suspects then stole his phone, worth an estimated £500.

Investigating office, Dc Paul O’Callaghan, said: “Although the CCTV images are grainy, I am certain that if you knew these two men that you’d recognise them. If you do, I would urge you to contact us so we can speak to them as part of our enquiries.”

One of the suspects is a black man, aged 16-20, with black afro-style hair, wearing a black puffa-style jacket and dark blue jeans. The other suspect was a white man, aged 16-20, with short brown hair, wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Dc Paul O’Callaghan at the Thurrock CID target team on 0300 333 4444 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
