THE 35th Thurrock Prince’s Trust Team Programme have successfully raised funds to carry out a community programme at the Culver Centre in South Ockendon.
Team 35 are re-vamping the outside seating area used by community groups at the centre.
The 13-strong team raised funds with a car wash at the Culver centre and the Connexions one stop shop in Grays.
They also carried out a 10km walk from Stanford-le-Hope to Basildon — the return trip was in heavy rain, but they didn’t mind as they were motivated to achieve the target to raise £151, matched by Dave Petrie, Thurrock Council’s Early Years, Families and Communities Central Locality Manager.
The Prince’s Trust programme is a 12-week self-development programme that aims to get young people qualifications, positive outcomes and builds on confidence and employment skills.
The Prince’s Trust will be running the next 12 week programme starting on 26th September. If you or someone you know could benefit from the course, please contact Anna Lane on 07747 621782 or email email@example.com
