Jim Reeves speaks to Thurrock Writers Circle

Thurrock Writers Circle were delighted to have author Jim Reeves as their speaker,

Jim has written several books and has been writer of the Year for Basildon Development Corporation; He has also written many short stories. He talked about his books A Schoolboy’s War in Cornwall and Memory books for both Wickford and Basildon. At present he has a crime novel with an agent and this should be most interesting as with his experience of his life in the police force during the time of the Kray Twins it will have given him a good insight into the world of crime.

The Memorial Day for Writer and Poet Fred Hall at High House Purfleet was attended by the TWC and poetry was read out by several of the members. A display was also on show with photos and some of the work done by the group.

After the refreshment break a workshop was held and words were given for a short writing exercise.
