Man cut free after trapped in car on Manorway

FIREFIGHTERS WERE called to an RTC involving one car. The vehicle had left the roadway on the Manorway in Corringham and rolled over on its side into a field. One man was trapped as crews worked to release him.

Crews used two sets of specialist cutting equipment and cut the roof and the side of the vehicle off. The man was cut free by 12:01hrs.

Station Officer Geoff Wheal said: “Crews worked well in hot conditions to get this man out of the car. Because of the vehicle’s position crews had to cut the roof and side off the car.”
