MARTIN Astell gave a very interesting talk on Essex Sound and Video Archive.
The archive holds a collection of recordings, as told by residents, from different areas of the county.
These recordings cover many aspects of local history, ensuring our county’s past is preserved in sound and images too.
The flower of the month, a rose, was won by Helen Chandler.
A ploughman’s lunch, to celebrate our 83rd birthday, was the social event this month and representatives of other local WIs were invited to join us.
We hold our flower and produce show on August 23, the time for exhibitors being 1pm and 1.45pm for other members.
