Mystery still surrounds shooting at Orsett Show

A 24-year-old Scout leader remains in hospital following last Fridays shooting at the Orsett Show.

Alex Norton from Grays was serving at the bar in the beer tent around 8.30pm when he was shot.

The bullet went straight through his leg.

Alex continues to recover in Basildon hospital.

Essex Police have confirmed that they have yet to trace the bullet.

The shooting came at an unfortunate time for the organisers as they were anticipating the arrival to the show of Jordanian royalty as part of the Imps motorcycle display team.

The police are still investigating.

It is uncertain whether the shooting came from within the grounds.

The tent backed onto the A13. It was approximately 100 metres away from a field near to Rectory Road and another 200 hundred metres from the Orsett playing fields near to the A128 Brentwood Road.
