Man wanted after assault on Aveley High Street

POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted in Aveley.

Between around 9:30pm and 11pm on Saturday September 24, a man in his mid-twenties was hit several times on the head with an unknown object. It is believed that the assault happened in High Street, Aveley, and the man then went inside the Old Ship public house where police and paramedics attended. The man suffered a one-inch cut above his left eye, and a half-inch cut to the back of his head, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a white man with dark hair.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed or who has information about this crime to contact South Ockendon, where the investigating officer is Pc Alexander Franklin, on 0300 3334444, by calling 101 within Essex, or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
