COUNCIL WORKERS will be stepping out tomorrow (Friday) after work in a charity walk for Essex Air Ambulance.
Earlier this year, Vertex member of staff Lindsay Porter lost her son, Jordan due to Sudden Death Syndrome (Heart stopping).
Jordan was treated on the roadside and flew by Essex air ambulance to Basildon hospital and although everybody involved did all they could to help him he sadly passed away.
Staff will be stepping out at 5pm from the New Road offices and heading to the White Hart, Treacle Mine and onwards to the Old Orleans at Lakeside (Here…aren’t they all…Ed)
The Essex Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity providing a free life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for Essex. It is thanks to the generous people of Essex that they can ensure that the service continues to fly into the future
The charity website for this is www.justgiving.com/Jordan-Porter or you can text straight from your mobile credit by texting 70070, quoting: FGIQ56 (space button) then how much. For example FGIQ56 5 (so £5). Please make a contribution where possible.
The staff have been raising money all week within the office with raffles and cake sales etc.
Everyone taking part is encouraged to dress in a sporting theme as Jordan was a big sports fan.
Anyone is welcome to join the walk or make a donation.
