“Police attitude” blamed for drink-driver’s refusal

A GRAYS MAN blamed the arresting officers attitude as the reason to refuse to supply specimens of breath at Grays Police Station.

Mark Wynne, 39 of Parsonage Road, Grays was stopped by the police in Orsett Road, Grays on September 24th after driving through a red light. He provided a positive specimen.

The court heard that on the way to the police station, he was told by the officers that “They were about to go off shift and he meant that they now had loads of paperwork.”

Wynne, objected strongly to this and refused to give a specimen at the station. The officers apologised but by this time, the court heard that Wynne was too unwell to undertake the procedure.

Wynne was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
