“Well done to all the 120 triathletes who came down on Sunday morning to participate in a challenge for the hospice to raise some funds 🙂 It was a beautiful day and not too cold… well not for me the organiser…
It was pitch black at 4am but with a great bunch of volunteers we managed to set up the 400m swim, 20k cycle and 5k run ready for all the participants bright and early at 6am 🙂
We had a massage tent, jacket potato van, and stalls selling athletic gear so was a great turn out.
RESULTS!!: Billy Parker-Brown came 1st and won himself a Trophy, £1000 Thomas Cook Holiday Vouchers and a years membership to Fitness First Basildon. Winner of the veterans – Teresa-Jane Flannigan and Team winners – G Park Runners!
We should raise over £10,000 so keep that sponsorship coming in. Massive thanks to all the vendors, volunteers and supporters on the day – wouldn’t have been possible without you all.
You can look at all the result and pictures from the website of http://stuweb.co.uk/default.asp?a=2&e=943 or keep your peepers open on here for more photos. Join us on facebook – http://www.facebook.com/charlotte.thatcher#!/stlukeshospicebasildon
Thank you again so much and I hope more can join us next year 🙂 Big thanks to Port of Tilbury as they sponsored us £2000 to go towards the costs and Peter Bryan who came down from the British Triathlon Federation.
