Faversham Town 2, East Thurrock United 4
RYMAN Premier East Thurrock came from behind and emerged victorious against Ryman South opposition, with the only sour note being the late dismissal of young full back Tom Stephen.
Faversham made much the better start, pushing back their visitors with some neat play that resulted in a fine shot from Adrian Stone that brought an equally good save from Richard Wray.
However, the keeper was picking the ball out of his net on 12 minutes when Justin Ascheri headed home at the end of a counter attack.
Rocks gradually improved and began to create chances, with Sam Collins hitting an upright and then screwing a shot just wide.
The equaliser came five minutes before the break when a corner fell to Kris Newby who turned and forced the ball home from close range.
And just a couple of minutes after the restart Rocks went ahead when Kye Ruel’s run ended in a goalmouth scramble and Petri Elbi forced the ball home.
The lead lasted just less than ten minutes with confusion in visiting defence allowing Stone to nip in and score.
Rocks introduced debutant Freddie Ladapo and his run caused confusion in the home defence, with Newby bring brought down as he ran goalwards. He picked himself up to calmly stroke home the spot-kick.
The game was put to bed five minutes from time when Ladapo rounded the keeper and netted and there was a dramatic finish to the game in added time when Stephen brought down Damian Abel in the box and was sent off but there was no consolation for Faversham as Matt Bourne blazed the penalty oer the bar.
