THURROCK Thames Gateway Development Corporation is inviting anyone who lives or works in the vicinity of Marston House in Grays to a Public Information Event to meet the team who will be working on its forthcoming demolition.
The event will be held on Wednesday 16th November 2011 at the Thurrock Centre for Business, Grays at 6.30pm. Senior representatives from the Development Corporation as well as Cuddy Group, the appointed demolition team, will be on hand to outline how the building is going to be demolished, present the measures that are going to be taken to reduce disturbance during the works and to discuss any concerns that people may have.
The demolition of Marston House will clear the way for South Essex College’s brand new Thurrock Learning Campus in New Road, Grays. It is hoped that works to demolish the building, which has been vacant since early May 2011, will commence in November and run through to January 2012 following which the developers of the Thurrock Learning Campus will be on site in spring 2012.
The Thurrock Learning Campus will play a key role in increasing the opportunities for local people to gain the skills and knowledge needed to access high quality and well paid employment. The 15,000 sq.m campus will also provide Further Education and opportunities for adult community education and work based learning.
Will McKee, Chairman of Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation said: “The Corporation has been working hard to assemble the site for the Learning Campus. The demolition of Marston House is a necessary step to secure this key project for the regeneration of Grays.
“We encourage as many residents to come along as possible to discuss any issues they may have as well as what this exciting project will bring to Grays and Thurrock”
