THE open evening for the Harris Academy (Chafford Hundred) is set for Thursday November 10th between 6pm and 8.30pm.
The Sixth Form at Harris Academy Chafford Hundred offers an exciting and varied curriculum as well as stimulating activities out of the class room.
If you choose to be part of our Sixth Form the school will do their best to enable you to achieve your potential, in whatever field that might be.
The school firmly believes that the Sixth Form is a stepping stone to higher education and as such, they encourage students to develop the skills needed to be successful in a more independent environment.
They offer a wide selection of A-level courses as well as Level 3 BTECs, and their innovative timetabling enables most students to choose their subject combinations freely, whilst controlling group sizes at an average of 16 at AS and 13 at A2.
They are justifiably proud of the academic progress their students make, with most of them achieving better results than predicted for their GCSEs. Students are supported in this by teaching and learning that is stimulating and of a consistently high quality, and by the academic and pastoral support of a team of experienced personal mentors, giving one-to-one guidance.
Their Sixth Form is about more than academic success. They truly believe our students are capable of great things: from whole school fund-raising to running events in the lower school that contribute to their world challenge.
YT spoke to sixth form student Max Scott who gave the school a ringing endorsement.
