Grays teen in court over axe attack

A TEENAGER from Grays has admitted attacking two boys with an axe at Highgate Magistrates Court.

Bienvenu Vangu, 18, was part of a gang that chased the boys into the court house on September 1 after a row broke out in the street.

A 14-year-old boy was treated for a head injury and a 15-year-old suffered wounds to his torso in the attack, at 11.45am as the court was in session reports the Haringey Independent.

Vangu, from Grays in Essex, was 17 at the time of the attack, and pleaded guilty on Wednesday to two counts of attempted wounding with intent, violent disorder, and possession of the axe in a public place.

He has been remanded in custody for sentencing at Wood Green Crown Court on December 14.

The two injured were questioned after their release from hospital, and remain on bail in connection until next month.
