A MAN has been jailed for 11 years having been sentenced for committing 27 offences.
David Record, 54, of Cruick Avenue, South Ockendon, appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court today, Friday, November 25, 2011 having previously pleaded guilty to 27 separate offences, 16 of which were sexual offences.
He admitted two counts of attempted rape, three counts of indecent assault, three counts of gross indecency with a child, five counts of taking indecent images of children, one count of making indecent images of children, one count of possessing indecent images of children, one count of voyeurism and one count of possession of a taser as well as unrelated charges of one count of burglary and nine counts of theft.
The majority of the sexual offences were historic, taking place between 1990 and 1999 on victims known to him.
Senior Investigating Officer, DI Tracey Harman, said: “This has been a complex investigation and I am extremely pleased for all the families involved that David Record has been convicted and jailed for the crimes he has committed.
“He is a manipulative man whose offending had not come to light until he was arrested for the theft offences.
“David Record’s offending went unreported for over 20 years and there is the potential that we have not spoken to all his victims.”
David Record has also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
