Assault in Tilbury
Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault outside a block of flats in Thackeray Avenue, Tilbury.
Between 1.30am and 1.40am on Saturday, January 21, a suspect has assaulted a 27-year-old man, causing a broken nose and swelling to his cheek.
Investigating officer, Pc Simon Kirk, said: “We have conducted house to house enquiries, and now I really need to locate anyone that may have witnessed the assault or knows who is responsible. If you know anything, please call me.”
It is believed the suspect was a white man.

Attempt robbery in Grays
Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Godman Road, Grays.
At around 9.30pm on Friday, January 20, a suspect approached the victim, a man in his 60s, as he was getting into his car and showed him a screwdriver before demanding money. The suspect tried to grab the victim’s bag and punched the victim in the face, but made off empty handed. The victim sustained swelling to the left side of his face, bruising under his left eye and cuts to his lips.
Investigating officer, Dc Peter Harvey, said: “This was a nasty attack on this man, who was just going about his business when this happened. As the victim was driving off, he was following a small silver vehicle, believed to have been a Fiesta, which had just past him whilst the incident was occurring. We would be very interested to speak with the driver of this vehicle, as they may hold information vital to our investigation, so if this was you, please call us.”
The suspect was a white man, about 18 years of age, about 6 foot tall, slim build, dark eyes – probably brown. He was wearing a darkish grey hoodie jacket with the hood over his head, which was loose with no obvious pull strings and also had long sleeves which were elasticated at the end. He was also wearing dark trousers, a plain black thin material scarf over the bridge of his nose and covering his lower face. He may have also been wearing gloves.

Gang fight in South Ockendon
Police are appealing for information following an incident outside the Jack O’Lantern pub in Daiglen Drive South Ockendon, in which two people have been arrested.
At around 11.20pm on Saturday, January 14, an incident occurred outside the pub, resulting in two 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old boy receive assault injuries. One man had a suspected broken nose, one had bleeding from the head and the other had a swollen cheek.
If you were in the area at the time and witnessed this incident, please contact police to help them with their investigation.
Two 17-year-old boys from South Ockendon were arrested on suspicion of assault. They have both been released on police bail, pending further enquiries, until February 26.

Women robbed in South Ockendon
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 40-year-old woman was robbed in Foxglove Road, South Ockendon.
At 6.50am on Friday, January 20, a suspect approached the victim whilst she was walking through an alleyway to the car park and showed her a knife before demanding her phone. The suspect stole the phone, worth an estimated £50 before running off.
Investigating officer, Dc Peter Harvey, said: “Following the robbery the man ran away towards an alleyway in Foxglove Road. There may have been a few people about on their way to work at the time, so if you saw this suspect running from the scene or know who he is, please call me. It really does take a callous thief to put a lone woman in such fear, and we really want to catch him and bring him to justice.”
The suspect was a white man, aged roughly between 25-30 years old, 6ft tall, slim build, with short mousey or light blond hair and was wearing a green jacket.
