SMP ARE delighted to announce that they have been selected to provide total play solutions, including a full funding service, for four play area developments for Thurrock Council.
The Council’s tender process, under the Framework, is new in its approach, as it sets out a requirement to provide funding solutions and a community engagement programme for all the sites identified for redevelopment – 12 in total.
SMP’s Play Architect Liz Townsend led the design team on the creation of the design for the first and most challenging site at Rainbow Road in Chafford Hundred which will have new provision for older children, incorporating new landscaping, seating for parents and a sports and fitness zone.
SMP were able to prove their expertise in 2011 with another project within Thurrock at Anchorfield in Tilbury, where they have supported public consultation and fundraising initiatives alongside providing design services, product selection, installation and project management at the site.
This project has a projected end value of £135,000. They expect these next four sites to have a total project value in the region of £400,000.
SMP are confident of delivering and exceeding Thurrock Council’s expectations for these four sites in 2012.
