THE STATION MANAGER at Tilbury power station has praised the fire service and his staff for their quick reactions in handling the fire that broke out at the station this morning (Monday).
Facing the world’s media down at the car park of the Worlds End pub in Tilbury, Mr Staves recounted what had happened since he was alerted to the fire at 0745 hrs this morning.

Friend of mine working in wood / paper / pulp suggests more cooling measures. Purfleet Paper storage mills of past were subject to several spontaneous fires because of heat build up in paper – relatively little difference to bio mass. Hope plant gets back on line quickly.
