Ryman Premier
Lowestoft 1 v 0 Aveley
THE MILLERMEN may have (semi) privately resigned themselves to relegation this year but that doesn’t mean they have given up. Far from it as the new regime concentrate on building for next year.
Aveley forced several corners early on and showed a great deal of commitment which surprised the Suffolk promotion candidates.
In the 30th minute, Aveley full back Sam Holloway produced a 30-yard piledriver which Lowestoft keeper Andy Reynolds did well to turn over the bar.
Lowestoft started to show their class as they went up the gears in the second half.Robert Eagle hit the post but Paul Burnett also had two good chances saved.
With two minutes left a left-wing corner dropped into the six-yard box and hit Joe Francis and rebounded into the net to give the Blues a single goal victory.
