Chadwell St Mary Amateur Boxing club hosts two Eastern Counties Elite Senior A.B.A Champions.
Kieran Redding and Jack Healy have boxed their way through to the quarter finals of this prestigous championships. Both boxers boxed in the Eastern Counties finals on Saturday 3rd March at the Ocean Rooms Great Yarmouth.
His ring experience really shone through and Zdrenka struggled to land a shot on the Chadwell St Mary boxer.
Redding lived up to the name on his shorts “Artful Dodger” and secured his place in the quater finals with an overall score from the 3×3 minute rounds of 19 points to 7.
Jack Healy, 21yrs 67kg boxed against the much taller and more experienced L Goodjohn from Haddenham A.B.C.
Healy dominated all three rounds displaying very fast combinatons and he also avoided being hit by Goodjohn’s favourite left hook throughout the bout. Winning with a score of 19-13.
Redding and Healy are now placed in the top eight of the country’s Elite Senior Boxers. This is a massive achievement for the Thurrock Boxing Club as this is the biggest and most recognised championship in the field of amateur boxing.
Both boxers are through to the qaurter finals at a very young age and at the first year of entry.
The quarter finals are to be held at the Halfway House A127 on the 25th March. Now is your chance to get behind your local boys and drive them through to the semi finals.
