THURROCK Council has announced the waste and recycling dates for the coming series of bank holidays which are designed to minimise disruption to residents.

The dates include Easter, the May Day Bank Holiday and the two bankl holidays in June marking the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

At Easter, the week beginning Monday, 2 April will see kerb-side collections as usual — including Good Friday.

All other weeks with bank holidays will see collections put back one day, running from Tuesday to Saturday.

On the second Easter week, there will be no collection on Easter Monday, but they will run from Tuesday to Saturday with every route being delayed by a day — Thursday collections on Friday and so on.

The next bank holiday is May Day, Monday 7 May. Collections will run from Tuesday to Saturday, delayed by a day again.

On the Jubilee holidays, collections will again begin on the Tuesday — a bank holiday — and run until Saturday.
