POLICE WERE called to outside Ockendon Academy on Friday afternoon (March 30th) after reports of suspicious activity near to the Eriff Drive school.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended at the scene just after 4pm but could not identify an offences.”
The incident comes as there appears to be a growing number of ‘reports’ of similar incidents around the South Ockendon and Aveley area.
There have been incidents of attempted abduction reported in the Harlow and Maldon areas and the BBC is reporting today (Tuesday) on the growing number of abductions in the capital.
The advice from Essex Police is: “I would urge parents to keep a close eye on their children and remind them about not speaking to strangers. Anyone who has concerns about any suspicious behaviour should immediately ring police on 999.”
Bit of a nothing story really, it does not say what type of “suspicious” behaviour this was, could it have been a bunch of youths casing the area, some bloke in a mac, cars park and dealing going on???
