SOUNDING OUT FOR FAMILIES-
ROYAL OPERA HOUSE THURROCK RUNS CREATIVE, INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS DURING EASTER
High House Production Park, Purfleet, Essex
Tuesday 10, Wednesday 11 April 10.30am-4.30pm
The Royal Opera House runs four unique, creative workshops for families during the Easter holiday at the High House Production Park as part of Sounding Out
These inspiring workshops are based on the themes of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Created for The Royal Ballet by Christopher Wheeldon last year and having made a welcome return in March 2012, this smash-hit production is bursting with fresh, witty choreography and striking designs. The activities offer families the opportunity to join in with singing and dancing, design props and scenery and compose songs and poems.
Each of the four workshops focuses on something different. Designing Wonderland invites families to travel ‘down the rabbit-hole’ and work with a designer in the development of a creation from scratch. Compose Yourself session is a practical workshop in which families can create musical soundscapes that tell an exciting story. A World of Words immerses families in a magical world of words and music as they devise their own poems and songs. Finally the whole family can enjoy a dynamic and energetic afternoon of dance as a professional choreographer teaches a creative movement session in Dancing With Alice.
