The ngage volunteer centre has been extremely busy in the arrangements leading up to T-Fest and Olympic Torch Relay.
ngage are seeking local people who would like to volunteer at these celebratory events and are appealing to local businesses for their help. The aim is to encourage local businesses and organisations to give their members of staff the opportunity to take time out of their work day in order for them volunteer during the Olympic Torch relay on the 6th July.
Jacqui Payne, from ngage said: “We have the challenge of finding 300 volunteers who will be needed from approximately 2.30pm. We really do hope that local businesses and organisations will see the torch relay as a once in a lifetime opportunity, and will support their members of staff through ‘Employee Volunteering’ so they can volunteer and help make the Torch Relay a success. We are also recruiting volunteers for the Thurrock Festival which is taking place on the 2nd and 3rd June too.”
ngage have been busy making their own 100 metre bunting to line the Torch Relay and have been in discussions with a number of residents about local street parties. ngage have organised a training for anyone who would like a better understanding on ‘How to organise a Street Party!’ which is taking place on the 30th April.
