I would just like to say a big thank you to the Residents of Stanford-le-hope West .
Firstly :- for having the same faith in my husband as I have
Secondly :- for having the courage and conviction to go out & put a cross by his name
Thirdly :- for not listening to common gossip.
You do not have to be in politics to suffer, a hate campaign against you. I have had to insure this sort of unacceptable behaviour for 3 years
I’ have suffered a personal hate campaigne that at points became intorable.
When somebody goes in to politics it should be for the good of all, not just the few.
There are some very good politicians on both side of the political fence & I for one hope that people will now put the past firmly in the past and start to work for the good people who have elected them. Thank you to all those who saw in my husband what I have always seen a good man. Kay Hipsey
Well done Terry 🙂
Kay I am REALLY sorry to hear of the hate campaign you have suffered and your wish to have the past put firmly in the past. It is however a great pity that your husband doesn’t have the same wish. One of his many election leaflets was entirely on dragging up the past on Eddie Hardiman the Tory candidate, hardly putting the past in the past.
It was hardly the actions of an honourable man as Terry called himself in the same leaflet! Eddie Hardiman did have the decency to do the honourable thing and stand down over the affair, unlike Terry Hipsey when as leader of the Conservatives crossed the floor to Labour, the REALLY honourable thing then would have been to call a by election.
I think your comments above are hypocritical but admire your loyalty to your husband and hope that perhaps in his term as Councillor he is honourable and carries out his election pledges. As a resident of Stanford I look forward to receiving my free resident parking permits and book of visitor permits and also his pledge to engage Thurrock Council’s business unit with the landlords and shopkeepers of Stanford le Hope.
I hope the free residents parking permit offer is for all resident parking areas in Thurrock or it would REALLY look like Terry was trying to buy votes in his ward hardly HONURABLE.
When Cllr Kent was interviewed by YourThurrock I did query his free parking pledge in the comments below the video
It would appear all resident’s parking permits are going to be free.
Really I all so noticed that when he crossed the floor, he did not nick a case of wine
And use the mayor’s car for a quick get a way or abuse a land lady in her place of
Work not really the same is it really?
Really
Your comments just prove exactly what Kay Hipsey wrote to be the truth.
You must be either a Torie or an Indindependant ( oh sorry all the same )
Mr Hipsey may of in some people’s eyes did the wrong thing by not stepping down, but he allowed the residents to decide this time round. So love him or hate him well done HIPSEY
Really just looks like a bad loser and should get back to work to take his or her mind off things.
The Conservatives choice of a comedy candidate was classic.
Choosing a hard working community activist instead of a disgraced former Deputy Mayor would have been too sensible for the clowns running the local Conservatives.
Albert, typical Labour 2 opened half bottles of wine as reported at the time suddenly turns into a case of wine. What REALLY annoyed me about Kay’s comments was the “leave the past firmly in the past”. It is a sign of desperation when canditates of any party resort to personal attacks rather than relying on their policies, and objectives.
The sooner politicians of all parties stop dragging up the past and look to the future the better it will be for the residents of Thurrock. I do not believe that there is REALLY no common ground between the major parties, the sooner they start acting for the benefit of the residents of Thurrock the better.
It would be REALLY nice if once in a while there could be a news story that showed this unity on a truely Thurrock only issue rather than the continued accounts of disagreements.
Really
I agrea with some of the points you have made yet perhaps you should be directing them at party activists ( like yourself) . I have to agrea with Kay that there are some good cllrs on both sides, and I admire her for saying it. yet she is quite correct when she says that they should work for all and not for the few.
really what you are saying to Albert your right it wasn’t a case but it was still theft, and you are right again Eddie did the right thing and stood down ! Because of what happened it was completely wrong So by that reasoning WHY DIDN’T DANNY AND JAMES STAND DOWN and do the right thing? Let me tell you why because of the number of sits involved Anderson needed their well used arses on sits. WHy use are talking about theft it might be a good idea if Eddie goes around to see Joy Redsell to give her some. Tips on how he did the right thing and stood down and she can give him some tips on meeting property developers whilst being photographed has Eddie is a bit of a David Bailey
