I think that this election in Tilbury shows that not only did the vast majority of the people reject the NF, they also rejected Labour. After Lynn Worrall has digested what has happened she will not be happy that less than 2 in 10 people have endorsed her as their councillor. It also shows that most people are not happy to just vote for a brand name anymore.
It is worrying that the NF polled that many votes in Tilbury.
As the candidates for the NF only stand to irritate members of the Labour Party, that will be what the NF will hope. But when you look it it realistically, less than one street in Tilbury actually voted for them. They’re still outnumbered by the amount of criminals that live in the area which is what most normal people should really be worried about rather than this political nonsense.
What is this woman wittering about. How can a 19% voter turnout be a victory for democracy. How long has this woman been a councillor and what has she achieved for Tilbury, or the Labour party achieved for Tilbury for that matter? The only noticeable difference I can see in Tilbury is that the real local community feel alienated and pushed out by all the immigrants that have moved to the area. Why else would the second largest vote have gone to the National Front. The Labour party both locally and nationally have divided this country and no amount of denial and amnesia is going to change that.
Maybe if the residents had actually been given notices of voting as normally happens during an election, the result would have been different. We were not even aware that the ward was in the election!!
