EARLY morning shoppers and staff were evacuated from the Lakeside Tescos superstore after a fire broke out within a freezer unit.
Firefighters attended at 2 am on Friday morning, wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire, which was contained to the freezer, although smoke spread throughout the building.
Crews used a high pressure fan to clear it from the store before declaring the area safe for staff to return.
The incident was dealt with by 03:07 hrs.
