THERE IS ALWAYS a family atmosphere at St Clere’s Academy and sports day was no exception as pupils from year 7 to year 11 competed in the track and field events in sports day.
Senior pupils also helped out with the officiating.
As usual with Thurrock schools, it was good to see that every event had a full compliment if runners.

Wow, what a fab afternoon! Pupils actively participating in various athletic events, being cheered on by their enthusiastic peers and teachers! Lots of fun and enjoyment as students immerse themselves in all the underlying values of sport for all! Well done St. Cleres!
Begs the question, why doesn’t the ‘Outstanding’ Ockendon Academy ever have a sports day? Nothing planned even in Olympic year!
And why was Darren Campbell’s (200m Olympic Silver Medallist) visit cancelled?
