IT IS SET to be a great weekend in Stanford with the music festival on Saturday and the main festival on Sunday.
From 10am to 4.30pm there will be over a 100 stalls, three entertainment stages and lots of second world war memorabilia including a 17-tonne Abbott gun tank as well as displays from the Thurrock museum, Bata centre and Essex Police, as well as a food rationing display.
There will also be the chance to do some archery, crockery smashing, street cricket and rock climbing.
Special Occasions bridal shop, in King Street, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this July, and is asking all its brides to send in a copy of their wedding photos to be displayed in its window during the festival.
On Saturday, a host of bands will be playing at the Stanford Music Festival at the Billet recreation ground, in Billet Lane, from 2pm.
Performers at the free event include The Heaters, Scooby, Sax on Fire, Beagles and Break for Cover.
