Firefighters in Thurrock went out on strike for an hour this morning (Saturday).
Between 4am and 5am, Fire Brigades Union members formed picket lines outside their stations.
A spokesperson for Essex County Fire and Rescue said no incidents happened during the hour, with officers returning to work at 5am.
A day-long strike is planned on July 18.
