It baffles me why people that own homes on Chafford Hundred believe that they are worth more than other areas of Thurrock. The place is returning to the pit it rose out of.
NoVoice, your point is?
This article could have been anywhere within thurrock, a young person got mugged. I doubt very much that this 18 year old owns a house on Chafford Hundred.
That is my point, it could have been Tilbury for example. Would People in Chafford value their homes in line with Tilbury, I think not. I can’t work out why they are valued as they are just because it’s Chafford Hundred. What is so special about it.
It’s no more special as your home/area feels to you.
however this is a mugging, and I fail to see what this has to do with owning a home in Chafford Hundred or anywhere else.
If this was an article about how special it was to live in Chafford Hundred, and own a home I would get your point.
I agree with some of your thinking, where you live does not make you better than anyone else, it’s how you treat people that makes you the better person.
I would hardly say that the place is falling into ruins NoVoice, but Like Rob said no where is better than anywhere else and I would be just as concerned if this occured anywhere else in Thurrock.
Last week it was drug dealing and gang related violence, not for the first time. This week it’s a mugging. There’s no school places. The place is prone to flooding. All I did was make an observation that I fail to see why property prices on Chafford are inflated compared to other places in trhe borough. Obviously this touches a nerve. Maybe it’s why so many places are up for let.
I think you will find drug dealers, and muggers anywhere in Thurrock, this is Essex. With one of the biggest shopping centers next door, a train station to help the low life’s get to where the rich pickings are what do you expect.
NoVoice – Chafford and Tilbury are identical, except that the schools are better the houses are newer, bigger, and higher quality, the gardens are bigger, there is more green space and it is well looked after, and because the houses are more expensive you end up with a different kind of resident. I live in Chafford, you are welcome to come visit some time.
I don’t need to visit. The houses aren’t bigger, they are new build boxes in most cases. I’ve seen flats in Tilbury bigger than some houses on Chafford. Tilbury was a planning disaster from the 1940’s. What’s Chaffords excuse? Has it just come out of the arse end of a world war? No it hasn’t. It’s an overpriced ghetto in waiting. No real local people give a cr*p about it because they knew it was a rip off from the start. You should have seen how they tried to get rid of the water and the shoring up of the chalk faces when they first started building the place. The roads around it were continually sinking. It’s an over rated etsate next to a big, overcrowded shopping centre and over crowded roads. Big deal. A real growth area to move to.
