THE GOVERNMENT has dealt a bitter blow to the parents campaigning for school places in Chafford by telling the MP Jackie Doyle Price that they will not intervene.
Ms Doyle Price spoke from the floor of the House of Commons to make a last minute plea for the six children who have been denied places at the three Chafford Hundred primary schools.
But minister for children and families, David Laws told the MP that although he sympathised with the case, the government would ‘Not interfere from the centre.”
But he did point out that if they felt Thurrock Council had not handled it fairly, then they could look at a matter of maladministration.
YT understands that a number of parents had been offered places at the highly acclaimed Stifford primary in Grays.

Good for you MP Jackie Doyle Price for sticking with these parents, keep going
