OCKENDON man, Stan Rainbird, has reacted with disdain at the protests in a Norfolk village against his proposal to build there.
According to the Diss Express, Stan, from Mollands Lane received planning permission to build one home on land adjacent to St Mary’s Church in Lower Street, Gissing, Norfolk in 1975, but has now submitted an application to South Norfolk Council, which could see two homes built on the site along with garages and four parking spaces.
The villagers of Gissing in Norfolk will be “banging a pan’ on Sunday on the green to demonstrate and dozens have written to the council in protest.
Stan has lived in Thurrock all his life. Originally from Aveley, he owns Brewers Farm in Orsett and is well know for helping a number of charities.
