EDUCATION BOSS, cllr Oliver Gerrish told the government last night to sort out the “Absolute mess” over the GCSE English exam marking chaos.
Cllr Gerrish spoke at a meeting of the Thurrock Council cabinet on Wednesday night.
Cllr Gerrish said: “Whilst I congratulate all those Thurrock students who did so well, I have to feel for those who have been left in a state of confusion.
“How can it be that one student can have a piece of work marked as a C in January and then another submit to the same assessment in June and get a D?”
The chaos has left schools such as Ockendon Academy, Ormiston Park Academy and Grays School unable to finalise their final mark due to appeals.
