Appeal after distinctive jewellery stolen from Purfleet

DETECTIVES have issued photographs of stolen jewellery as part of an appeal for information about a burglary at Purfleet.

Thieves took several items of distinctive jewellery in the break-in on the Watts Wood estate on October 6.

The incident is believed to have happened between 9.45am and 4.30pm. A rear door and two internal doors were badly damaged as the intruders forced their way in.

Investigating officer DC Chris Kench said: “We are publishing the photographs in the hope that we can find the jewellery and return it to its rightful owner.

“If anyone is offered these items for sale they should contact us immediately so that we can trace the thieves.

“Burglary is a despicable crime and in this case a woman’s treasured jewellery has been taken. I would urge anyone who has information about the burglary or knows the whereabouts of the jewellery to contact us.”

Anyone who can help should call DC Kench at the Grays Target Offender Team on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
