A NUMBER of mums in Parker Road, Grays are working to improve the standard of play equipment in Parker road, Grays.
The park, off London Road is one of the most popular in the borough. However, last year, parents were shocked to see that equipment had been taken away by the council.
The council claimed that it was a question of health and safety,
The park was full of parents and youngsters on the day that YT interviewed Paula Chalmers and Victoria Seymour from the Friends of Parker Road.
Paula and Victoria explained how they are working with Thurrock Council to put in a bid for more funding to pay for equipment.
They have a Halloween fundraiser on Wednesday October 31st at Belmont Village Hall, which will be attended by the mayor of Thurrock, cllr Yash Gupta.
