THURROCK Lawn Tennis Club’s oldest member hangs up his racquet.
Alex Strachan decided that at 86 it was time to take life easy and give up tennis.
He is a Trustee of the club and has played regularly for 50+ years.
Most of that time he has taken an active part in the running of the club.
As part of the club’s finals weekend, they presented Alex with a cup in his name that will be played for each year.
This year’s winner is Martin Maile.
Alex was given an engraved paperweight as a personal momento.
