Disney launch “Share the Magic” at Lakeside

FOR the fourth year running, Disney Store is launching its Christmas ‘Share the Magic’ charity appeal, with the aim of donating presents to children across the UK. The Lakeside Disney Store has chosen to partner with Little Havens Children’s Hospice this year.

From 12th November, a Magical Post Box will be placed in store and for every letter to Santa that is posted, a toy will be donated. Disney Store hopes to donate 10,000 toys to children across Europe through this year’s campaign, 6,000 of which will be in the UK.

Children have three ways to get involved in the campaign. They can write their letter to Santa at home and bring it in to the Lakeside store, take part in one of the free fun letter-writing workshops in the store or go online to, use the letter writing tool, print it at home then bring it to the Lakeside store.

To date, more than 50,000 children across Europe have benefited from Disney Store’s annual Christmas appeal through charities such as Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Barnardo’s and numerous local hospices.

Teresa Tideman, joint managing director, Disney Store Europe says: “Supporting our local communities is very important to The Walt Disney Company, particularly at this special time of year. For the fourth Christmas running, we are encouraging people to ‘Share the Magic’ at Disney Store in conjunction with local children’s charities, who are thrilled with the support they receive from our guests.”

Kylie Minor, Acting Marketing Manager at Lakeside, says: “Lakeside stores are incredibly charitable throughout the year but especially so at Christmas. We’re delighted that Disney Store is supporting Little Havens Children’s Hospice this year and wish them every success with the campaign to donate so many presents this Christmas.”
