THE first event of the new look Open Vision will be held at the Swan, in Horndon-on-the-hill, on Thursday 22nd November between 7.30 and 9.30 pm, in the gallery room upstairs.
The new format will continue to develop the network of artists and creatives in Thurrock and will feature a series of informal artist talks, a feature presentation as well as ‘soapbox’ opportunities to promote, discuss or update on opportunities, events or ideas.
If you would like to get involved and either put yourself forward or recommend someone else then please get in touch.
Looking forward to Open Vision on the 22nd November and in the meantime please check out the brand new website.
Open Vision is part of the launch of Thurrock Arts – a brand new platform to encourage, facilitate and promote contemporary art in Thurrock.
Thurrock arts will provide an online resource for contemporary art, promote member artists through exhibition opportunities and also develop a network for artists and enthusiasts in the borough. In addition it will also facilitate and coordinate the annual showcase for the contemporary art community in Thurrock, the Thurrock Art Trail.
The website is up and running and you can visit by clicking www.thurrockarts.com
Thurrock Arts will not only facilitate and coordinate activities throughout Thurrock, it will also provide a much needed online portal for contemporary art, promoting and building upon the arts and culture growing reputation of the borough. The aim is to bring together all of the arts disciplines and thereby appeal to not only artists but creatives as well.
Thurrock Arts would like to thank Thurrock Council and particularly Mark Allinson for continued support over the last couple of years, without which they would not have been able to launch Thurrock Arts.
