Updated: Two men arrested following Fobbing postman robbery

TWO THURROCK men have been arrested following an alleged theft of a postal van in Fobbing, which left a postman in hospital.

A 29-year-old man from Tilbury and a 32-year-old man from Grays were arrested overnight.

They are being questioned on suspicion of robbery at Grays police station.

The attack happened at 10.00 am on Thursday (Dec 6th) morning on High Road, Fobbing.

The 31-year-old postie from Stanford-le-Hope was making xmas deliveries when it is alleged that a male jumped into the van and stole it.

The postman suffered from severe bruising and was taken to hospital but was discharged soon after.

The van was recovered a short time afterwards in Howell Road, Corringham.

Updated: Dec 10th 1700 hrs…Two males have been released on bail until Feb 6th.
