DETECTIVES in Thurrock are investigating an aggravated burglary at a house in Love Lane, East Tilbury on Saturday evening (December 15) and appealing for information.
Around 9.20pm five men, wearing balaclavas, entered the house and threatened the occupants, a mother and her two teenage children. The men carried weapons and stole a large sum of cash, jewellery and other items. No one was injured but the family were very shocked.
Police searched the vicinity and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. The men are described as white, aged in their 20s, four were average height and slim build, one man was significantly shorter and stocky build.
A police spokesman said: “This seems to be a targeted burglary and was a very frightening experience for the family. Anyone with any information should contact CID at Grays Police Station on 101, or give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
