Thurrock Tories announce new health spokesperson

THURROCK Conservatives have announced Cllr Shane Hebb as their new interim Health Spokesman. Shane replaces Cllr Sue MacPherson, who has decided to step back from the shadow cabinet for family reasons.

Cllr Macpherson said “I have loved serving in front line politics both in administration and in opposition, but changes in my personal commitments mean that I will be stepping down from my shadow cabinet position. I will continue to carry on working for the residents of The Homesteads ward who elected me to this privileged position.”

Conservative Leader Phil Anderson, “I would like to put on record my appreciation for all Sue’s hard work in recent years. I have found her support, expertise and professionalism invaluable since I became leader. I understand that at this time, she needs to put her family commitments first and I fully support her in that decision.”

“I am pleased to announce that Cllr Shane Hebb will become our Health spokesman on an interim basis, supported by Cllr Mike Revell. Shane has already made his mark as a ward councillor since being elected to represent Stanford West, and is well placed to hit the ground running in this crucial area.
Mike has many years experience, both in Cabinet and in opposition, and I am delighted he has agreed to put this to good use supporting Shane.”

“Permanent shadow cabinet arrangements will be announced after the Budget.”
