YOURTHURROCK is proud to announce that we have broken the one million page views in a year.

The breakthrough comes as our readership/viewing public has continued to grow since we launched on September 1st, 2008.

In 2009 we gained 300,511. In 2010 it jumped to 633,239 and in 2011 we had 835,367 page views. We passed that figure on November 8th, 2012 but we have had a real surge since then, with 165,000 page views in just seven weeks.

We only started using google analytics when Matt Harris and the team at Pixelwork.Com upgraded our site.

We have also seen our twitter following grow. We now have 3,839 followers

Our youtube following has also grown with over 50,000 minutes of Your Thurrock films being watched every month.

Editor of YourThurrock, Michael Casey said: “This is a hugely significant moment for us. Our readers want and expect immediate news, whether that is travel updates on the M25 and A13, football match reports or stories from council meetings.

“The filming of our news is also vital. The stats tell their own tale.

“We are so grateful to our contributors from across the borough who send us press releases, reports and snippets of information.

“Thanks to the commentators and to all those who read the site.”
