Football: Gulls too strong as they sink the Fleet

Ryman Premier

Canvey Island 2 v 0 Thurrock

THURROCK always knew that this would be a tough call and they were right as they were beaten 2-0 by Canvey Island.

Two goals by Bradley Woods-Garness was the difference between the two teams, which saw the Gulls move into fourth in the league.

Thurrock had their chances with Danny Green going close twice in the first half but it was always about taking their chances.

And Robbie Norris also had a good chance in the second but Canvey always looked a goal or two better and indeed Woods-Garness could have had a hat-trick as he went close near to the finish.

Thurrock will face Canvey again at the end of the month.

Thurrock: Hughes; Jones, Guest, Jeffries, Ebsworth; Wanadio (Paxman 67), Thurgood, Norris, Green; Stimson (Imbert 78), Honesty (Cook 78)
