POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a suspected assault which occured between 4pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday 16 January in an alleyway off East Street in Grays.
A 20-year-old man suffered a seven inch cut to his face during the incident which requiried hospital treatment.
A white Ford Fiesta car was then reported to have been seen leaving the scene.
Two men were subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing grievious bodily harm with intent.
A 23-year-old man is currently on police bail to report back in mid-March.
A 32-year-old man has been charged in connection with this incident and is currently on court bail.
Police are still keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or any part of it, who they have not yet spoken to.
