Aveley 0 v 1 Grays Ath
THERE is a steeliness in Grays Athletic that was missing last year and it was evident in their 1-0 win against Aveley at Mill Field on Monday night.
It would be easy to say that the game turned on the sending off of Aveley striker Jordan Cox.
Cox got his marching orders after a lunging tackle on Grays skipper Lee Flynn.
But Grays had a steel about them throughout the whole game, that has typified their game over the last few months.
Grays took the lead through a Danny Bunce penalty in the 29th minute and never looked back.
The victory sees them now ten points behind Maldon and Tiptree with two games in hand. With a game against Maldon in April, Grays still believe ( and who can contradict them) that they can catch Maldon.
