MAYOR of Thurrock, Cllr Yash Gupta, has become the latest of hundreds of Thurrock resident to sign up for the Big Energy Switch.
Thurrock Council’s first collective energy switching scheme – estimated to be able to save people up to £250 a year – is seeking residents who want to sign up until 8 April.
The following day an auction of energy suppliers will be held and a tariff will be offered to all who signed up based on their calculated energy usage. People can then decide whether they wish to accept or decline the offer.
Thurrock Council will be running signing up sessions to sign up at the Civic Offices in New Road, Grays, on 3 April between 9am and 1pm.
Anyone interested in coming along is asked to bring copies of their gas and electricity bills so they have all the information required to complete the form.
Full details on how to sign are also available on the council’s website by clicking on the Big Energy Switch (www.thurrock.gov.uk) which will take you to the online registration form on the iChoosr website – or you can call 01375 366103 for assistance.
